so, there's a couple of things worth mentioning

My financial aid went through....I don't have to sign anything...my account is flagged for deferment if my money doesn't get there by the deadline...everything's good on that front...

while on hold, there was announcements for the college activities, programs and whatnot...I think I may explore being a radio DJ again...hell, it wasn't so hard at BG...I think I still remember my techniques at "Falcon Radio"...I love music...seems like a good fit.

Also, they are starting up a new Web Zine called Bear Tracks that I'm interested in getting into....so, right there, I have 2 college activities already interested in.

After that, I felt pretty good (except for the headache that I still have) so, I went to the couch and uncharacteristically turned on the TV.  Of course, I was just flipping endlessly until I stopped on C-Span.  Obama was talking about the economic stimulus plan that he and his team were working on...I still think he is such a great speaker, but he was outlining plans to put this legislation into effect by the end of January-first week of February...shortly after being inaugurated.  The best thing about this is his willingness to be so open and forthright with the American people in regard to what is going on with the bill and even talked about setting up a website that details everything out there in black and white.  He also said that he is meeting with Democrats and Republicans and wants no part in posturing or finger pointing and needs to come to a quick and efficient solution to this ever-growing problem.  He's planning on creating 3 million new jobs, offering incentives for big and small business for job growth AND plans on helping the middle class/ordinary people of the world.  He also said that the solution is to not to just throw money at this and create a viable solution for this problem.  You can check out updates to those talks here.

Even when faced with idiot reporters he managed to keep his cool...here's the thing about why I called them idiots:

  • Are you going to let the rising conflict in the Middle East detract your team?
    • Answer:  Well, as a president, president-elect or a team for that matter, we all should be able to concentrate on more than one thing at a time.  However, there are delicate negotiations that I'm updated with daily.  For right now, there needs to be one voice in order to avoid confusion and keep stability.
  • Is this actually going to take place for the middle class, or is this another ploy to placate the American people?
    • Answer:  If you had been following my campaign from the start  you would know that I've been planning this all along.  It's about taking care of the people that run this country and helping the country as a whole.
  • How soon is this actually going to take place?
    • Answer:  Well, there's always going to be a process that takes time.  There are many steps before it will actually come to my desk, but are expediting it as quickly as possible and am predicting the end of January to the first week of February.
What terrible is that everyone is expecting him to do so much and he's not even president yet.  I could see that he was visibly frustrated at people's insistence that he do things yesterday, however everything is going to take some time...even everyone I talk to says the same thing: "Well, I'm planning on doing this and this as soon as Obama turns the economy around."  Seriously?  It doesn't happen overnight.  You have to give the guy credit for taking on such a daunting task that is no doubt going to age him far more than his years are.  I applaud him for not loafing around and just planning a course of action already.

I agree about Obama. He's not even president yet! Cut him some slack.

I'm sorry things have been so crappy with the eye. I'm glad to hear things are turning around for you. Good luck with school and I hope the DJing thing works out. Hugs.
